The K Mac Quartet

Kick off your holiday groove this November with The K Mac Quartet at Possum’s Store

Join us for a memorable evening with some of the best jazz musicians on the East Coast. Philadelphia musicians, Kevin MaConnell, Dave Posmontier and Bob Howell will be coming to Possum’s Store, joining them will be the very talented Richmond drummer Emre Kartari. The four ,together, make up the incredible K Mac Quartet , a group assembled by bassist Kevin Maconnell

The level of musical talent of this group is exceptional and they, collectively, have performed with jazz great such as Charlie Bird, Mel Torme,  Billy Eckstine, Grover Washington Jr, Jaco Pastorius, Christian McBride, Joey DeFrancessco, Clark Terry, Aretha Franklin, Diahann Carroll, Lou Rawls and many, many more.

Kevin MacConnell is a Philadelphia bass player with a varied musical career. He has performed  and recorded with many jazz greats including Ernie Watts, Billie Eckstine, Diahann Carroll and has toured with the classical/bluegrass hybrid the ‘Depue Brothers Band’ .

Kevin is becoming a fixture locally as a member of  the management board of The Blue Ridge Center for Music and the Creative, bringing his music and teaching talents to Madison County Va.

Bob Howell is a Philadelphia native. Bob studied saxophone at the Berklee College of Music and with saxophonist Joe Viola. He has performed nationally and internationally  and recorded with many well known jazz and R&B greats such as Lou Rawls, Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, Clark Terry and Odean Pope to name a few.

Dave Posmontier has been playing piano since he was 7 and played professionally since 12. He has Performed and recorded with many Jazz artists, including Christian McBride, James Moody, Groover Washington Jr. and Johny Hartman. He is also playing traditional and innovative klezmer music with the ‘Klinggon Klezmer’ Dave is currently playing, composing, arranging and teaching.

Emre Kartari Is a jazz percussionist from Richmond Va. He is from a family of musicians and holds an M.A. in jazz performance and composition from New York University. Emre studied with Toney Moreno, Billy Hart and Adam Hartman. He has performed with Jazz greats Charlie Byrd, Ron McClure, Justin Kauflin, David Liebman, to name a few. As an educator he has initiated jazz degree programs at he Hacettepe University, Ankara State Conservatory and the Yazar University in Turkey.
