Kick off May with The K Mac Trio, Featuring Toni Meceli and Doug Hirlinger at Possum’s Store.


Join us for a memorable evening with some of the best jazz musicians on the East Coast. Philadelphia musicians, Kevin MaConnell, Tony Miceli and Doug Hirlinger will be coming to Possum’s Store. The three ,together, make up the incredible K Mac Quartet , a group assembled by bassist Kevin MacConnell.


The level of musical talent of this group is exceptional and they, collectively, have performed at The Blue Note, Birdland , The Philadelphia Orchestra and have played with jazz greats including Billie Eckstine , Ernie Watts, Diahana Carol , Stanely Jordan and Rudresh Mahanathappa and many more.



 

Kevin MacConnell is a Philadelphia bass player with a varied musical career. He has performed  and recorded with many jazz greats including Ernie Watts, Billie Eckstine, Diahann Carroll and has toured with the classical/bluegrass hybrid the ‘Depue Brothers Band’ .

Kevin is becoming a fixture locally as a member of  the management board of The Blue Ridge Center for Music and the Creative, bringing his music and teaching talents to Madison County

Va.

 

Toni Miceli is a an internationally known vibraphonist and one of the primary voices on the vibraphone. He is a sought after recording artist and inspired educator. Macula is part of Team Omega, a renowned group of vibes player that include David Friedman, Joe Locke and Stefon Harris.

All About Jazz,Victor schemer describes him as “ a vibraphonist of astonishing virtuosity, music resilience and inventiveness. His vibes playing is nothing short of phenomenal.

 

Doug Hirlinger is a percussionist and composer raised in St.Louis. He is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and over the last 28 years has played with any world renowned musicians. Doug has spent much time at the fame and beloved Ortlieb’s Jazzhaus where he worked with pianist Sid Simmons. In 2022 Doug was commissioned by Philadelphia Jazz Project, along with his wife vocalist,Keisha Hutchins Harlingen to compose ”Water Speaks: A Social History of Segregation
